Do this and you won’t grow as a writer on Medium

Facebook communities, share your story on social media

First of all, I want to make it clear that I have no problem with communities (groups) of writers on Facebook but this is a warning to every new writer like me.

Let’s see, if you are hired to work in a company of your dreams to carry out your profession, would you like your boss to stop you from doing your job while doing it himself? Would you like someone else other than your boss to do your job?

Think this way about Medium, think this about the Medium’s algorithm, no matter how many changes there are to Medium’s algorithm, it was made to do its job, which is to highlight your stories or articles on Medium if what you write has the quality and appeals interest of readers.

So why do you always make the algorithm work?

Every time you depend on sharing your articles and stories in Facebook communities you are affecting the work of the algorithm by making your stories dependent on external views properly shared in Facebook communities.

But that resolves itself by not doing it and allowing the algorithm to do its work for a while by publishing and not sharing.

But the big problem is not this, everything I mentioned is the simplest to solve.

The big problem

Have you ever noticed that in Facebook communities you have to follow someone, read their story and clap if you want them to do the same to you? Right!

These people follow you back but how many of them read your stories or articles when posted? It’s all about getting the 100 followers. And these become ghosts, they are there, just numbers, but they don’t give you retention and I doubt if you open any articles when they post, because the number of articles they are posting appears in their photo.

This is the problem, you will see people earning pennies on Medium while they have 5K to 10K followers.

Do all that and you’ll fail as a writer on Medium.

Just publish, improve your quality and publish, don’t worry too much about the beauty of words, worry about sharing your thoughts, write as you speak, help people with your content and Medium will do its job.

We all want to grow on Medium but we won’t all grow if we depend on sharing in Facebook communities, I hope this content is useful and if it is and you want to help me too, subscribe to Medium monthly worth $5 and annually worth $50 using my subscription link, this supports all writers who read their stories or articles thank you, guys.
